Accounting Specialist
Job Description
Responsibilities
This position provides general ledger accounting duties and technical assistance to the Internal Financial Reporting team under direct supervision
- Coordinate and perform accounting duties.
- Prepare general ledger entries.
- Perform reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. Research and resolve discrepancies
- Prepare and review financial statements, including related schedules.
- Perform financial analysis.
- Provide customer service support to internal and external customers/clients.
- Provide reports and related information to support business unit objectives and reports.
- Respond to inquiries by providing guidance, support, and analysis, as requested.
- Provide administrative and office support functions.
- Perform word processing, excel data entry, maintain files and generate reports.
- Compose correspondence.
- File, scan, and copy documents.
- Participate as an effective Finance team member
- Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude and high ethical standards.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and participate in internal projects and operations.
- Communicate concerns and ideas in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Obtain and expand knowledge base in area of expertise.
- Develop skills and keep knowledge current.
- Integrate new knowledge and skills into daily work and share with colleagues as appropriate.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Assist with advancing department projects and initiatives.

Qualifications
- Degree in accounting or related field. Experience in lieu of a degree would be considered.
- Demonstrated problem solving, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Ability to learn and utilize specialized software.
- Ability to provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, display appropriate ethical knowledge & commitment and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of duties.
- Keen sense of accuracy and attention to detail, as well as ability to follow directions/procedures required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive environment with frequent interruptions.
- Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards, while maintaining confidentiality.
