Accounting Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our team in our Irving, Texas office. The ideal candidate will manage the accounts receivable/accounts payable process efficiently and accurately. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities

• Processing accounts receivable/payable and incoming/outgoing payments in compliance with financial policies and procedures
• Performing day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting and recording accounts receivable/payable data
• Preparing bills receivable, invoices and bank deposits
• Reconcile the accounts receivable/payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and correctly posted.
• Verify discrepancies by and resolve billing issues
• Facilitate payment of invoices due 
• Monitor financial transactions
• Communicate with vendors, customers and colleagues
• Report the status of accounts and discrepancies
• Respond to ad hoc requests for reporting and financial information
• Participate in special projects as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
 

• Proven working experience and expertise in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Journal Entry, Bank Statement Reconciliation, Month-End-Close and Reporting
• Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
• Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
• Data entry skills, along with a knack for numbers
• Hands-on proficient experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software (SAP or other full-scale ERP software)
• Intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable experience
• Proficiency in English and MS Office, including Excel
• Customer service orientation and negotiation skills
• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and maintaining accuracy
• Attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Proven performance in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and coworkers
• Reliability and strong work ethic
• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform tasks
• BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration preferred, and/or at least five years of working experience as an Accounting Specialist
