Accounting Specialist

Breckenridge Insurance Services, an Accretive company, has an exciting opportunity for an Accounting Specialist in our Kennesaw office. The Accounting Specialist assists with processing premium, return premium, surplus lines tax and commission payments. This position also helps streamline accounting payable processes and month-end accounting.

What You'll Do

• Exports payables data to Excel, formats data to determine current items due for payment.
• Cross references and organizes vouchers, invoices, checks, account premiums, reports, and other records, and reviews payments for accuracy.
• Keeps company and inter-company payables current, in balance and paid.
• Reconciles general ledger accounts with various registers. Resolves all inter-company discrepancies.
• Works with client service staff to resolve premium discrepancies and adjust commissions as needed.
• Makes and posts payments daily.
• Reviews relevant payables inboxes daily and responds timely to all inquiries.
• Other duties as assigned

What You'll Need

• Minimum of 1-2 years of related experience required.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Strong Excel skills required.
• Tech savvy; must have intermediate skills in Microsoft Office suite; agency management system experience, preferred.
• Multitasking/organizational/time-management skills.
• Strong math skills.
