Accounting Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Finance

team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial reporting,

accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes for Careem's Grocery

business. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent

communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.

What you'll do

• Support with the monthly financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Provide sensitive financial data to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with various departments to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
• Ensure timely and accurate posting of AP invoices from vendors, ensuring a 3 way
• match is done
• Prepare detailed reconciliation between Careem and vendor’s data
• Provide assistance to vendors on queries related to AP/AR
• Create timely AR invoices and ensuring proper accounting the system
• Assist the business team with any finance and accounting-related activities.
• Provide financial insights and support to enhance business decision-making processes.
• Work closely with the tax team to ensure all invoices issued to and from the business are tax
• compliant in Saudi and Jordan.
• Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a specialization in Accounting.
• Professional qualification from an accounting body (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, etc.).
• Work experience of 3-5 Years
• Arabic speaker
