Accounting Specialist

About the role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Specialist to join our Finance
team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing the financial reporting,
accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes for Careem's Grocery
business. This position requires a strong understanding of financial principles, excellent
communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
What you'll do
- Support with the monthly financial closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Provide sensitive financial data to key stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure all financial data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of AP invoices from vendors, ensuring a 3 way
- match is done
- Prepare detailed reconciliation between Careem and vendor’s data
- Provide assistance to vendors on queries related to AP/AR
- Create timely AR invoices and ensuring proper accounting the system
- Assist the business team with any finance and accounting-related activities.
- Provide financial insights and support to enhance business decision-making processes.
- Work closely with the tax team to ensure all invoices issued to and from the business are tax
- compliant in Saudi and Jordan.
- Stay updated on tax regulations and ensure adherence to all relevant tax laws.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.Com) with a specialization in Accounting.
- Professional qualification from an accounting body (e.g., ACCA, ICAEW, etc.).
- Work experience of 3-5 Years
- Arabic speaker
