Position Summary: The Accounting Specialist performs duties for general accounting activities including general ledger activities and financial statements. They are also responsible for payments received from customers to post to appropriate accounts. They will assist on a variety of special projects and reports as needed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Under general supervision, post receivables and keep accurate records of incoming payments.• Monitor the cash application postings to clear the associated GL accounts.• Maintenance and reconciliation of leger accounts.• Follow up on discrepancies received and open accounts receivable, check for debits or other adjustments and process following prescribed procedures.• Process and analyze debit memorandums and follow-up with suppliers to ensure accurate processing.• Prepare accrual for month end outstanding debit memos and process.• Review account edits and make necessary adjustments.• Maintain balance sheets and P&L statements.• Clear Open Item Managed (OIM) GL accounts for month end.• Post established recurring entries.• Monitor completion/closing of all tasks for month end reporting.• Create Projects in SAP systems needed for Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and run monthly CapEx reports.• Run month end reports for reconciling to local ERP Trial Balance.• Produce bank reconciliations for all bank accounts.• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills and Experience:• Associates Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related area• 0-2 years of experience • Experience with Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)• Ability to work independently and without supervision when required• Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting• Good interpersonal, communication, and listening skills

Preferred Skills and Experience:• Experience with SAP• Experience in the Automotive industry• German and/or Spanish language skills
