ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST

Forrest T. Jones & Company, Inc., and its affiliates ("FTJ"), provide insurance and insurance related services to clients,

Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks related to the recording and reporting of financial

transactions and financial/bank statements associated with deposits and payments.

Expectations• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, unclaimed property filings and unclaimed property reconciliations.• Research, communicate and resolve discrepancies with multiple departments.• Ensure accuracy and ability to keep up to date each month.• Prepare journal entries.• Provide requested support for Auditors.• Adhere to FTJ Policies & Procedures, including but not limited to Corporate Mission Statement, Corporate Values and Corporate Code of Conduct.• Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Competencies• Strong organization, time management and prioritization skills.• Ability to complete work timely.• Excellent communication skills, analytical and theoretical understanding.• Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office applications.• Detailed oriented, professional attitude, reliable.• Must be a team player, works well with others.

Requisites• A minimum of two years of experience in accounting position preferred.• Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.• Basic understanding of principles of finance, bookkeeping and accounting.• Experience with Accounting systems.
