Accounting Supervisor

JM Family looking for an Accounting Supervisor! The Accounting Supervisor is tasked with overseeing the monthly accounting and management reporting for corporate departments and several benefit programs while collaborating with management, internal and external strategic business partners for process improvements. This role includes recording monthly journal entries, reviewing journal entries of direct reports, and preparing the monthly management reports. In addition, the supervisor will focus on the growth and development of direct reports. This role is based out of Deerfield Beach, FL and follows a hybrid work arrangement: 3 days on-site, 2 days remote, flexibility is required based on business need.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily activities for assigned areas. Prepare monthly journal entries and review journal entries of direct reports to ensure accuracy.

• Prepare monthly Management reports (Flash and Book schedules) including variance analysis to budget and prior year.

• Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are prepared and reviewed in a timely manner and reconciling items are identified and cleared within a timely manner.

• Support the annual audit process and ensure audit requests are completed and requested information is provided in a timely manner.

• Oversee Corporate AR cycle ensuring customers receive invoices and pay in a timely manner

• Provide guidance and support to direct reports, fostering a positive team environment. Provide real-time coaching and feedback. Conduct performance evaluations and provide development opportunities to enhance performance.

• Position our department as a strategic partner within the organization to help improve processes and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required. CPA preferred.

• Minimum of five years experience in accounting and financial reporting.

• Previous supervisory experience preferred.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop team members.

• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to interpret financial data and present findings clearly.

• Experience in managing month-end close processes.

• Experience preparing and recording journal entries.

• Professional level experience with Excel including visual presentation capabilities. Advanced Excel ability a plus.

• Experience with a general ledger accounting system (NetSuite preferred)

• Experience with reporting tools (Essbase and/or Power BI a plus)

• Must be detailed oriented and self-motivated.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across departments and with senior management.
