Accounts Payable Accountant

This is an individual contributor role and requires a hands-on, detail-minded, critical thinking approach to the financial operations of the Company and has great communication skills to resolve questions about accounts payable.

This is not a remote position.
The ideal candidate will need to be onsite & able to participate in hybrid work.

• Own the overall AP process and apply thorough understanding of the P2P process
• Ensure payable invoices are entered accurately into accounting systems, properly supported and approved, and paid in a timely fashion
• Maintain vendor information and records ensuring adequate documentation is provided and is properly entered in compliance with organizational policies and procedures
• Maintain the 1099 data for vendors and own the preparation of annual 1099 and other AP compliance reporting requirements
• Assist in employee reimbursement process and maintenance of Abacus (reimbursement platform)
• Review corporate card expenses for general ledger coding, proper documentation, and compliance to organizational policies
• Manage centralized AP mailbox
• Be knowledgeable of basic accounting rules following the accrual basis with the ability to identify accurate coding of transactions
• Assist the Assistant Controller in developing and testing process improvements, system enhancements, and procedures to improve the efficiency of work streams, visibility of information, and usefulness of the review process
• Be a responsive, collaborative partner with all departments across the company. Respond to questions from internal and external parties regarding vendor/ invoice/ payment in a professional and timely manner
• Assist Finance team members on ad hoc projects
• Support year-end audit and other specific audits/reviews. Prepare requested schedules, provide supporting documents, and help answer questions
• Responsible for AP month-end closing pre and post processes, including AP-related accruals
• Maintain and follow department processes and procedures and actively look for opportunities to implement improvements and efficiencies
• Manage physical mail ensuring all letters received are properly handled. 

• Minimum 3 years of Accounting experience
• Work with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment within scope of authority
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel; NetSuite knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with Bill.com
• Experience in SaaS environment preferred
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks to meet deadlines through open communication and collaboration in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment
