We’re seeking an AP Specialist to join the finance team to handle accounts payable functions for the company. 

Role and Responsibilities:
  • The AP Specialist is responsible for all accounts payable functions for the company, including but not limited to processing invoices, cutting checks, reconciling vendor statements, and monthly AP accrual. Generally, support the accounting department and assist in accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Handle the accounts payable responsibilities including but not limited to: (1) three way matching, (2) processing invoices into system, (3) cutting checks to vendors, (4) reviewing payable statements, (5) handling vendor payment inquiries, (6) processing the monthly AP accrual, (7) process and review the expense reports, (8) process and review the credit card statements, (9) Vendor Set Up, (10) ACH / Wire process.
  • Responsible for preparing and posting accounts payable journal entries and ensuring payables and associated expenses are appropriately recorded.
  • Support month-end and year-end close process around reconciling AP, Credit Card Transactions, T&E, and Accruals.
  • Maintain 1099 vendor files for accuracy and up to date W9’s for tax reporting.
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist with general ledger classification and coding in conjunction with the FPA team. 
  • Assist with AP related platforms – Abacus, BILL, Trip Actions, Credit Cards, and identify automation or consolidation opportunities. 
  • Expectation is to attend meetings and take initiative in Financial review discussions.

 

Qualifications: 
  • Associate degree in Accounting or relevant equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3+ plus years of overall general accounting experience is preferred.
  • Working with Corporate Cards and Vendor Billing is also required.
  • Understanding of the chart of accounts and classification of expenses is strongly desired.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) required.
  • Experience with AP Platforms or any relevant, comparable platform is required
  • Understanding of general ledger such as NetSuite and Floqast a plus. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail required.

Compensation: The role described above offers an hourly rate of $21 - $28.  Your offer will be based on the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity.  In addition to the above-mentioned salary, Total Rewards includes the benefits as outlined above.
