Accounts Receivable Specialist

ABOUT THE POSITION:
As a member of our high-performance accounting team, you will perform various accounts receivable and credit functions and assist the Credit Manager with accounts credit review process. Our office is in the beautiful Schaumburg Corporate Center. We offer a hybrid work schedule with three days in the office, and days WFH. This role also includes late coverage (7-8 pm) once day per week and Saturday remote coverage for 1 hour (3-4pm) once a month. You will support the team by performing the following responsibilities:
 

• Making collection calls and follow up on past due with customers.
• Handling day-to-day customer credit evaluation, with the assistance of their manager
• Reviewing credit exposure for new and existing customers using analysis with D&B Reports and other data.
• Initiating reconciliation of disputed accounts receivable to resolve discrepancies in conjunction with both sales and customer service areas.
• Updating customer information in the system.
• Processing credit card payments using accounting systems.
• Dunning to customers & appropriate escalation on more serious matters
• Trouble-shooting outstanding issues on accounts
• Interacting with all Business Units, sales, customer service, finance, and other internal departments concerning credit and customer service issues.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:
 

• Some advanced schooling in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience working in a Credit / Collections department.
• An aptitude for numbers.
• MS Office Suite Skills including Outlook, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP.
• Strong problem solving & customer service skills.
• Organization skills with attention to detail & logical solutions to scenarios.
• Excellent communications and written skills.
