Argo Group currently has a challenging opportunity for an Accounts Receivable Supervisor located remotely or near an our Argo office in San Antonio, TX. This self-motivated individual will lead the billing and collection activities within the Accounting Department and report to the Head of US Segment Accounting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee daily/monthly/quarterly accounts receivable operational activity. Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Serve as a liaison with the Facilities Department and Segment Accounting to maintain efficient check/wire processing.
- Assists offshore team with process and review for all billing systems.
- Provide timely and responsive service to business requests both internally and externally utilizing the highest standards of customer service.
- Work closely with outside collection vendors on placement files and reports.
- Collection of outstanding Accounts Receivable balances.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable Aging, to help group achieve over 90% goal.
- Oversee research and clearing of unapplied balances within 90 days of receipt.
- Prepare/review various weekly and month-end reconciliations and research/resolve discrepancies as needed.
- Complete management reports as needed.
- Assist with internal and external audit requests.
- Assist with system requirements, IT user acceptance testing, implementation, and training for various system.
- Supervise, train, and develop staff, ensuring job responsibilities are completed successfully and career progression is supported.
- Assists with special projects and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in a business discipline is preferred (Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, etc.).
- 5+ years' experience in Accounts Receivable with additional collections duties including heavy customer contact.
- Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong relationship building, interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently within a team setting.
- Property & Casualty insurance industry experience is preferred, but not required.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Experience with Process Improvement.
