The Opportunity:

Roche Services & Solutions Americas is one of the Roche Shared Services Centers worldwide providing Finance, Procurement & HR services to various countries in the Americas region. CRM Cluster Section Lead will be based in San José, Costa Rica and reports to the CRM Cluster Lead. You, as Cluster Section Lead, will be responsible to lead the AR team and support the execution of AR operational activities for the RSS Americas in Costa Rica.

This role is essential for maintaining the integrity and efficiency of our financial operations while fostering a collaborative and productive team environment. Manages the activities of credit approval and credit collection. Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures, and policies. Recommends credit limits and handles special credit arrangements and problem collection accounts. Oversees analysis of accounts receivable, aging of accounts to determine overdue accounts, and collection procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates employees to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Supervision:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the accounting, financial analysis and reporting team in Accounts Receivable.

  • Provide daily direction, feedback, and performance evaluations.

  • Handle hiring, training, and development needs of team members.

  • Maintain effective communication within the team to address issues and encourage suggestions.

Financial Operations: 

  • Oversee reconciliation of bank and customer accounts.

  • Manage customer direct debit payments, refunds, collections, and sales order releases.

  • Perform cash applications and customer credit analysis.

  • Maintain customer credit master data.


Process & Compliance:

  • Plan and implement efficient work methods and departmental operations.

  • Ensure compliance with all program regulations and adequate documentation of transactions.

  • Participate in determining the treatment of complex transactions.


Collaboration & Improvement:

  • Collaborate with managers and directors to identify and implement process efficiencies and quality improvements.

  • Serve as the escalation point of contact for affiliates/markets regarding SSC processes.

  • Proactively and constructively manage change within the department.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent experience.

  • Proficient with computerized applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, G-Suite).Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication.

  • Excellent prioritization and organizational abilities.

  • Familiarity with Finance Shared Services and operational accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Blackline).

  • Expertise in SAP modules (FCC, FI, CO/PA, MM, FA).

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance.

  • Capable of multitasking and meeting deadlines.

  • Experience planning and organizing team work.

  • Language proficiency: English & Spanish required, French preferred.

  • 5+ years of finance/accounting experience.

  • 2+ years of previous experience managing finance teams.
