ACE Operations Engineer
KBR is looking for an Operations Engineer for the Multi-Mission Operations Center (MMOC) team, supporting the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE) and Interplanetary Physics Laboratory (WIND) spacecrafts. The Operations Engineer, working with the MMOC Lead and reporting to the MMOC Operations Manager, is responsible for oversight of the real-time spacecraft operations for the ACE spacecraft. This position will be located at Goddard SFC in Greenbelt, MD.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Desired Experience & Skills:
Prior experience in spacecraft operations: real-time satellite console (command, control, and telemetry analysis) operations certification
ITOS and STOL experience
Experience with data processing, flight dynamics and ground networks
Spacecraft subsystem/instrument performance analysis experience
Windows and UNIX experience
Experience with C, BASH, PERL, and Python Languages
Experience with XML and SQL databases

Responsibilities:
- Monitor the health and safety of the ACE spacecraft and ground system
- Monitor real-time activities and transmit daily loads to ACE
- Respond to, identify, and investigate spacecraft and ground anomalies
- Write and maintain daily operations records - pass summaries, engineering changes, etc.
- Perform daily mission planning activities
- Perform daily trending and data analysis activities
The ACE Operations Engineer will:
- Work off-nominal hours during special operations
- Become the MOT resident expert in a specified spacecraft subsystem and science instrument
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
- B.S. in engineering, mathematics, physics, or computer sciences
- 2 + years of experience
- Good communication skills
- Self-motivated; able to work autonomously, with minimal direction
- Works well with a team
- Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail
