ACH Spec II

The ACH Specialist II is responsible for supporting all Automated Clearing House (ACH) processes within the Credit Union. This position has in-depth knowledge of ACH and ACH system(s), ACH regulations, and ACH process flows. Ensuring that these processes and files comply with NACHA and other related regulations.

What you will do here:

Serve as subject matter expert on all ACH functions including business and consumer origination. Ensure timely and accurate processing of daily ACH functions including file acceptance, processing exceptions, and reconciliation.

Provide excellent service by delivering consistent communication and problem resolutions. Contact members or other key stake holders, with questions regarding files or returns to complete daily operations.

Analyze file data for risk, accuracy and consistency. Validate that all ACH files, incoming and outgoing, have been successfully received. Utilize expertise to make decisions and approve or reject ACH transactions such as Online Banking External Transactions, Online Account Opening, ACH disputes, etcResearch any and all outages and ensure GL accounts are in balance.

Contribute to developing and streamlining procedures to ensure compliance of NACHA rules and all regulatory requirements to ensure internal controls are in place and functioning properly.

Collaborate with other lines of business within the Payment and Deposit Services scope, to participate in projects related to establishing and maintaining ACH services.

Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What you will need:

High School Diploma or GED required.

3+ years of related experience, working in a financial institution required.

3+ years ACH and exception processing within NACHA guidelines required.

1+ year of settlements and balancing required.

Demonstrated ability to analyze data to make informed decisions required.

Aptitude to meet strong deadlines and uphold commitments required.

Capable of processing and prioritizing a high volume of work accurately; demonstrated ability to maneuver in multiple operations systems simultaneously required.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written required.

Customer service skills preferred.

Organizational skills and attention to detail required.

Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze large amounts of data within NACHA format preferred.

Demonstrated ability to learn and comprehend new system processes quickly preferred.
