The Systems Engineering Division (SED) provides unmatched experience in systems engineering to the U.S. government and to numerous public and private agencies, universities, nonprofit organizations, consortia, and commercial companies involved in the advanced application of space technology. From systems architecture development to system analysis and optimization, astrodynamics, orbital debris, navigation, failure analysis, mission assurance, cost and schedule assessment, and economic market analysis, SED exploits an incredibly broad array of engineering and business disciplines against a diverse and dynamic portfolio of programs and national challenges.
The Acquisition Analysis and Information Department (AAID) applies innovative acquisition, systems engineering, and data engineering strategies and tools to address evolving needs and threats and to inform customer decisions. AAID is seeking an Acquisition Support Technical Administrative Specialist II/III to support data research, collection, validation, and reporting of space and launch data.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs a wide range of technical support tasks related to the Acquisition Support and Systems Engineering Toolset (ASSET) and other department capabilities
  • Researches, compiles, and validates information on space and launch vehicle systems and launch milestone events entered and maintained in the ASSET Launch Log
  • Investigates and reports on space and launch anomalies, leveraging internal resources and external subscription services
  • Responds to customer requests for space and launch vehicle data contained within ASSET or other AAID tools
  • Maintains a shared repository of programmatic documents, including digitizing hard copy documents, and catalogs the artifacts and their accompanying metadata in ASSET and other corporate repositories
  • Develops and maintains data visualizations for space and launch data housed within ASSET and other AAID tools
  • Supports management with configuration and data management requirements.
  • Manages, updates, and maintains databases

KEY FUNCTIONS
  • Research space and launch program data and validates the data to keep information accurate and current
  • Research, formulate, and input data into database
  • Gather and identify customer needs for space data
  • Create and execute a plan to meet identified department and customer data needs
  • Conduct internal briefings to discuss findings and recommend changes and/or updates
  • Collect programmatic documentation, scan and provide document conversion and metadata
  • Research and analyze data and provide an analysis of results to support specialized studies and other activities
  • Create and maintain anomaly records
  • Acquire, store, and access programmatic data as needed

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL II/III
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree in a related discipline - OR - 5 or more years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Familiarity with configuration management practices
  • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign space programs and vehicles
  • Critical decision-making skills
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot problems
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and projects
  • Must possess strong organizational skills

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, to self-initiate activities, and to work within timelines
  • Must possess time management and project management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and collaboration tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams)
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR LEVEL III
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience with an Associate's degree in a related discipline - OR - 7 or more years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following:
    • Tableau or similar data visualization tools
    • Jira and Confluence
    • Database management
    • User interface development/management
    • Python or other common programming languages (e.g., Visual Basic, C/C++)
  • Active Secret or Top Secret security clearance

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENTS
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer to complete activities.
  • Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment.
