Intrinsic is a team of consumer health experts, eCommerce operators and brand builders on a mission to accelerate products and ideas that make a difference in people's lives.
We have raised $115 million to acquire and grow eCommerce brands in the health and wellness space, targeting Amazon-native brands operating as third-party sellers.
Our investors include Define Ventures, Link Ventures and Tony Robbins. We were co-founded by Redesign Health, a pioneering venture studio in NYC that has launched over 20 healthcare innovation start-ups in the past three years.
About the Role
As an Acquisitions Associate, you will work closely with the Business Development team to identify exciting acquisition opportunities in the health & wellness space, ranging from baby & pet health, elder care & healthy aging, womenâs health, and more. You will be responsible for leading commercial diligence of those investment opportunities, identifying key questions, shaping analyses, and making data-driven recommendations. You will partner with Data Science, Brand Management and Supply Chain to identify key risks and opportunities for growth.
This role is a unique opportunity to work directly with senior leadership and entrepreneurs, leading transactions that will be transformative for the founderâs lives and for Intrinsic. What Youâll Do
- Own deal screening and communication, serving as the first point of contact from the Acquisitions team with founders
- Evaluate category and brand growth across a variety of sales channels (e.g. Amazon, direct-to-consumer, wholesale)Â
- Conduct market sizing, competitive analyses, financial modeling, and determine key risks and mitigantsÂ
- Identify levers of growth and quantify size of the prize that rationalize the acquisitionÂ
- Have access to a tremendous amount of data and work closely with our Data Science, Brand Management, and Supply Chain teams to develop key insights around growth potential
- Draft comprehensive and concise investment memos, coordinating input from key stakeholders including Brand Management and Supply Chain teams Â
- Become an expert of direct-to-consumer e-commerce and Amazon channels, including marketing, unit level economics, and drivers of growth Â
- Quarterback process from initial contact through closing
What Youâll Need
- Bachelorâs degree in finance, business administration, or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in a highly analytical role (consulting, investment banking, private equity, or high growth start-up; experience analyzing consumer product brands a plus) Strong preference to those who have completed a formal Analyst or equivalent program
