Grammarly is excited to offer a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely in the United States, Canada, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, or Portugal. Conditions permitting, teams will meet in person a few weeks every quarter at one of Grammarly's hubs in San Francisco, Kyiv, New York, Vancouver, and Berlin, or in a workspace in KrakĂłw.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we’re looking for an Activation Manager to join our Grammarly for Education team. This person will develop and implement strategies and initiatives to drive end-user (student) activation and engagement within the Grammarly for Education account portfolio. Their primary focus will be generating interest, excitement, and awareness around Grammarly for Education offerings at the institutional level and enabling students to act.

Your impact

As an Activation Manager, you will positively impact user engagement and conversions through targeted marketing efforts that resonate with our customers. This is a new individual contributor role on a growing team and will be critical in accelerating growth, maximizing the value of Grammarly, and scaling our product to educational institutions worldwide. The role will report directly to the Head of Customer Success.

The responsibilities of the Activation Manager include:

  • Developing and implementing plans and strategies that drive student activation of Grammarly at institutions that have purchased our product. 
  • Creating and executing promotional campaigns across various channels such as social media, email marketing, search engine marketing, and display advertising.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product, sales, and customer success to ensure a consistent and cohesive customer experience.
  • Analyzing data and metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and using this information to optimize future activities.
  • Managing budgets and allocating resources to achieve maximum ROI.
  • Conducting market research and staying up-to-date with ed tech industry trends to identify new opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Streamlining and organizing communications to support institutions, including oversight of the Grammarly for Education brand to ensure we are represented consistently.
  • Providing project updates consistently to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.
  • Participating in campus-based presentations, demonstration booths, or industry-wide conferences when they come up. 
We’re looking for someone who

  • Is able to collaborate in person 2–4 weeks per quarter, traveling if necessary to the hub where the team is based.
  • Has experience in marketing disciplines and activities, including digital marketing and funnel management, with 2+ years of customer-facing relationship management experience.
  • Is highly skilled at communicating and leading through influence with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Can use data to develop and deliver marketing plans and outcomes.
  • Relentlessly sets aggressive short and long-term goals and possesses a strong internal drive to achieve them.
  • Can predict resources needed to reach objectives, and then manage thosee resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Has education industry experience and is excited about bringing value to educational institutions and the students they serve.
  • Understands subscription business models, including Freemium, free trial, account expansion, and upsells.
  • Has exceptional English communication skills, including verbal and written.

  • For North America–based employment: Grammarly takes a market-based approach to compensation, meaning pay may vary depending on your location. Our US and Canada locations are categorized into compensation zones based on each geographic region’s cost of labor index. Base pay may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Our compensation packages include equity; a wide range of medical, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance options; retirement benefits; and parental leave. We offer twenty days of paid time off per year (global), eleven days of paid holidays per year (US and Canada), and unlimited sick days (global). 

Grammarly team members in this role must be based in California, Colorado, Texas, Atlanta, GA, North Carolina, South Carolina, New York, or Toronto.

The expected “On Target Earnings” (OTE) for this role are outlined below and may be modified in the future. 

United States: 
Zone 1: $150,000/year (USD)
Zone 2: $138,000/year (USD)
Zone 3: $132,000/year (USD)
Zone 4: $126,000/year (USD)
