Ameritas is looking for our next Actuarial Risk Analysis Manager to join our Corporate Actuarial Life valuation team. This position is a department subject matter expert on life formulaic statutory reporting including regulatory bluebook and rating agency survey reporting. Partners with internal stakeholders across the organization, providing analysis and resolving highly complex problems / issues on a timely basis, completely, and accurately. This position is for candidates who do not plan to pursue actuarial credentials through the SOA's actuarial exam process.

What you do

  • Lead a team responsible for the statutory and tax formulaic valuation for life products
  • Produce required statutory bluebook pages for life valuation
  • Responsible for life valuation aspects of rating agency surveys and state-specific reporting
  • Detailed analysis of values related to quarterly statutory and tax formulaic life valuation reporting
  • Document decisions made, processes put in place and other work performed
  • Support process improvement projects
  • Create a high performing culture through associate and business resources
  • Design and implement programs or processes to achieve business results
  • Identify and resolve problems for both internal external parties
  • Monitor and evaluate adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Develop partnerships within the organization to engage in cross-functional business initiatives
  • Analyze complex data from multiple systems
  • Define, perform and manage operational processes on a timely basis, completely and accurately and create new process enhancements
  • Create and manage accurate documentation in accordance with appropriate standards
  • Develop and perform calculations using more complex and undefined processes
  • Lead projects involving cross functional areas


What you bring

  • Bachelor's in Actuarial Science, Mathematics Statistics or related field or equivalent work experience
  • 4-7+ years of actuarial financial reporting and risk analysis experience or similar work experience

  • US Statutory Valuation reporting required
  • US GAAP Valuation reporting preferred
