Actuarial Assistant-Valuation
Job Description
SUMMARY STATEMENT
This position’s primary responsibility is to support the Valuation and Financial Reporting procedures for Fidelity & Guaranty Life. This position will execute processes of designated lines of business for one of three valuation areas 1) GAAP, 2) Statutory/Tax or 3) Valuation Support.
ORGANIZATION
This position reports to the Actuary, Actuarial Valuation or Sr. Associate Actuary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monthly production of reserves under the following bases: GAAP or Statutory/Tax
- Develop information for preparation, review and analysis of reserve movements
- Maintenance/enhancement and timely execution of valuation controls
- Assist in maintenance of the valuation programs for new products, new regulations, etc.
- Other projects as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science or related technical field
- Successful completion of 1 - 4 ASA examination requirements
- 0 – 1 years of experience with an actuarial internship preferred
- Strong technical, analytical, organizational, computer, and team skills
