Actuarial Associate

Summary

This position reports to the Americas Regional Pricing Lead (Actuarial Senior Manager) and works closely with Product, Underwriting, Sales, Client Management, and Legal/Compliance partners. This position supports the actuarial pricing function within Cigna International Market Americas region.

This role is responsible for:

• Ownership of pricing assumptions and experience studies, rate filings, strategic initiative support, and product development support;
• Support rate reviews and ongoing enhancements to pricing methodologies and assumptions for Expatriate Medical and non-Medical products.
• Prepare and conduct regulatory rate filings for Medical and non-Medical products across U.S. states through strong partnership with internal legal and compliance teams and state regulators.
• Provide pricing support and analyses for strategic growth initiatives leveraging strong business acumen and collaboration.
• Utilizing independent judgment and discretion, managing and analyzing actuarial research;
• Working closely with business matrix partners to achieve profitability and growth goals.
• Strong communication with Sales, Client Management, Underwriting, Finance, and other areas to drive profitability growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Statistics, Business Administration or related field
• 5+ years of work experience with a minimum of 2+ years of strong actuarial or finance related work experience
• Very skilled in the use of Microsoft Excel/Access, SAS, or R
• Associate of the Society of Actuaries preferred
• 2+ years of work experience with health products preferred but not required

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.

For this position, we anticipate offering an annual salary of 90,200 - 150,400 USD / yearly, depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

This role is also anticipated to be eligible to participate in an annual bonus plan.
