The role

What will you be doing?

Actuarial Consultant
6 month Fixed Term Contract
You will lead, oversee and perform a range of Actuarial tasks within Unum. To be an Actuarial contact point and a source for technical Actuarial input and explanation for internal customers around the company. To develop their Actuarial knowledge in line with the Actuarial development programme and to provide training for other Actuarial colleagues.
Actuarial Consultants are expected to have developed understanding & knowledge in the different Actuarial activities carried out within Unum. The 4 principal activities are Actuarial Risk & Capital, Actuarial Reporting, Actuarial Systems and Pricing.

What will you bring?

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Qualified actuary or nearly qualified actuary with a minimum of 10 actuarial examination passes and proven actuarial experience.
• Detailed understanding of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excel software, R, VBA, PowerBI, Actuarial specific software & Python desirable.
• Highly numerate with high levels of accuracy and attention to detail and figures.
• Able to lead and provide on the job coaching for less experienced colleagues.
