We are actively hiring for an Actuarial Manager, Pricing Design!

Your Role: Leading a hard-working team of actuaries and modelers to gain insights from large and complicated insurance data sets and redefining them into powerful rating variables to improve risk segmentation and member experience through thoughtful pricing design.

Your work:

  • Lead and mentor a team of actuarial analysts and modelers, providing mentorship and support in conducting predictive modeling projects and new product development.
  • Review work of analysts and coordinates the successful completion of projects within the required time frame.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Data Scientists, Product Development, Pricing and Product Management to find opportunities to improve risk segmentation, implementing rating structures and pricing strategies.
  • Develop and refine predictive modeling techniques to improve risks assessment, pricing and new product strategies, advised by research and competitive analysis.
  • Oversee the collection, preparation, and validation of data vital for modeling purposes.
  • Manage Teams time and workload and recommend tradeoffs to leadership.
  • Demonstrate the ability to balance the achievement of business results with constrained human capital.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancement in actuarial science and predictive modeling techniques.

Required Experience, Education and Skills

  • BA/BS Degree
  • ACAS Designation
  • 7+ years of work experience in P&C insurance industry
  • Strong understanding and proficiency of GLM and other predictive modeling techniques
  • Superior research, statistical, and critical thinking skills with ability to structure and conduct analyses
  • Deep knowledge of the P&C industry, competitors, insurance product pricing, financial drivers of profitability
  • Advanced level of knowledge of catastrophe modeling and catastrophe risk management
  • Proficient in using SAS and EMBLEM
  • Strategic thinker and hands-on contributor.
  • Collaboration and teamwork with other functions at the executive and management level
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills; comfortable speaking in front of large and small groups
  • Adaptability and the capability of multi-tasking with strong time management

  • Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science, or related area
  • Experience with new personal line products design and launch
  • 3+ years management experience within the insurance industry

The national average salary range for this position is $149,000-$166,000. However, we have a location-based compensation structure. Our salary ranges vary and are calculated based on county of residence. The full salary range for this position across all the states we hire in is $134,000-$199,000. This role also includes an opportunity for a company-wide annual discretionary bonus, through our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP), of up to 15% of eligible pay.
