Model development is key to our enterprise as we forecast assets and liabilities out for several decades in the future. The Actuary Modeling Lead is responsible for driving transformative improvements in the Actuarial and Actuarial Asset/Liability modeling. This individual will work with team members and other stakeholders to build and modify models to meet ever changing regulations and business needs. The Actuary Modeling Lead will also help take the models and use them to help provide insight into the business. This individual will lead a small team of Actuaries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Improve existing models (making optimal use of available functionality, increasing efficiency and ensuring compliance with enterprise modeling standards)
- Create new models (onboard new products & ensure compliance with new regulations)
- Assist in troubleshooting model issues and unexpected results
- Plan and prioritize model improvements & execute on the plan
- Assist in modeling business objectives
- Help ensure optimal use of actuarial modeling systems & be a resource to the enterprise for modeling software
- Coach, develop and manage a small team
Qualifications & Requirements:
- BS/BA in Math, Actuarial Science, Economics, or related fields
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)
- Member American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
- 5+ years of actuarial experience, including 3 years of modeling experience required
- 5+ years of insurance industry experience is preferred
- Prior leadership experience for at least 2 years is preferred
- Ability to solve complex problems and cross-functionally collaborate in achieving enterprise goals
- Proven experience articulating complex data to both a technical & non-technical audience.
- Demonstrated passion for work and team's success
- Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background
Salary Band: 07C
This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in IN as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
