Actuary Director

Product pricing is a key actuarial function that helps the enterprise develop insurance products that meet its strategic objectives, including the creation of customer value, sales growth, and profitability. The Actuary Director is a subject matter expert on all relevant Individual Life & Financial Services (ILFS) products supported within the team. This role includes pricing model development, experience review and assumption development, product pricing activities, profitability analyses and reporting, engagement in cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert (for example, in a product implementation team), and many other ad-hoc analyses.

Responsibilities:

• Build and maintain pricing models
• Set and maintain product premium rate levels
• Determine product profitability and report out to senior management
• Partner with product strategy/manager, sales distribution, and others to analyze product concepts from a pricing and profitability perspective
• Analyze product risks - and recommend to senior management potential risk mitigation actions
• Review and report on experience results for currently offered products
• Set and maintain actuarial assumptions for new and currently offered products, which includes setting best estimate actuarial assumptions to be used in other actuarial teams
• Support/Lead product implementation efforts and confirm product mechanics and values are accurate on relevant systems (for example, policy administration system(s))
• Construct (and sign, as appropriate) state filing documents and actuarial memoranda

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries
• 5 years of relevant experience in actuarial work and/or insurance (preferably life insurance and annuities and/or long-term care insurance)
• Ability to solve complex problems and cross-functionally collaborate in achieving enterprise goals
• Proven experience articulating complex data to both a technical & non-technical audience.
• Demonstrated passion for work and team's success
• Or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background

Salary Band: 07C

This selected candidate will be expected to work hybrid in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will also be expected to physically return to the office in CA, WI, IN or ME as business needs dictate or for team-building and collaboration.
