Job Description

The Administrative Assistant is responsible to answer the telephones, receive messages and forward to the appropriate individual. Preparing forms, scheduling vehicles, filing, mailing and assisting the Office Manager. Chrysalis Provides appropriate support for individuals to help them gain greater independence by making a difference daily in applying the five Chrysalis Values: Respect, Safety, Fun, Mentoring and Accountability
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have good judgment and able to handle crisis situations.
  • Punctuality and regular/consistent attendance at the worksite are required and the employee must be able adhere to their workplace schedule in order to ensure proper support to the people served
  • Stay awake, responsive, and communicate effectively to other employees and individuals
  • The ability to work through problems without supervision.
  • Excellent general writing skills and can articulate oneself on a variety of issues.
  • Filing skills
  • Computer and math skills
  • Have good public relations skills in working with a variety of medical, professional and state employees.
  • Need to have a flexible schedule to accommodate needs of the office
  • Other duties as assigned by Administrators


Requirements

  • Minimum of least 18 years old
  • Pass and maintain a passable criminal background check and LEIE per state regulations
  • Pass required controlled substance tests
  • Should possess the ability to speak, read and write effectively in English


Experience or Education:

  • High school diploma or GED


Required Training and Certifications:

  • Complete all initial and on-going training requirements within established time frames
  • Complete annual CPR, First Aid, and OSHA training (All Employees)
  • Obtain and maintain SOAR certification (All Employees)
  • Obtain and maintain Food Handler’s Permit and T.B Test (Utah employees)
  • MEDS (Nevada)


Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent public relations skills working with the individuals’ family
  • Ability to communicate effectively with medical, professional, and state employees
  • Demonstrate good judgment and ability to handle crisis situations
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills working with the individual and co-workers (including the ability to stay calm and maintain professionalism under pressure)
  • Demonstrate a service oriented attitude

Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an indoor environment where the temperature is usually moderate and the noise level is minimal. The employee may be exposed to various environments including, but not limited to the following: aggressive individuals, may come into contact with blood and/or salvia, and other OPIM.
