Job Description
Summary
The incumbent serves as the personal assistant to the Division Chief, performing office automation functions and clerical, program, and administrative support over a broad range of technical and administrative areas as well as guidance and assistance to support staff in subordinate branches.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.

- Appointment to this position may require a background investigation.
Qualifications

Specialized Experienceis the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
For the GS-07 Grade Level: Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-06, in the Federal service.
Specialized experience must include at least four (4) or more of the following:
- Responsible for obtaining and distributing office supplies and materials;
- Develops and prepares a variety of administrative reports and other documents;
- Review or proofread documents for conformance, format, or grammatical accuracy;
- Create and maintain records and files;
- Maintain office support tasks such as office calendar, scheduling appointments, coordinating travel, or managing time and attendance records;
- Communicate with customers through a variety of contact methods (e.g., email, telephone, in-person, web form inquiries).
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, you must have a typing proficiency of 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors. You must have a certificate of proficiency from an organization authorized to issue such certificates or self-certify your proficiency.
Education
There is no substitution for education at the posted grade level.

This position is inside the bargaining unit. If the duty location is within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the position will be included in the Local 12, AFGE bargaining unit. If the duty location is outside the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, the position will be included in the NCFLL bargaining unit.
