Job Description

We are Multiverse, a tech scaleup with a social mission. We’re creating a diverse group of future leaders by building an outstanding alternative to university and corporate training, through the power of professional apprenticeships.

We’re one of the fastest-growing businesses in Europe and rapidly expanding in North America, working with over 500 clients including McKinsey & Co, Morgan Stanley, Verizon and Visa. In June 2022, we broke the EdTech funding record (again!) by announcing our $220m Series D, making Multiverse the UK’s first ever EdTech unicorn.

Join us on our journey to democratising access to the best careers and learning opportunities.

Admissions is at the heart of Multiverse; we assess and match candidates to apprenticeship opportunities and roles where we have a high degree of certainty they will succeed on programme and deliver business impact. We are building a radical new way to assess individuals and predict outcomes and impact, based not on past performance, but potential. We are building a fast and fair way to assess and match at scale in a way that is not being done in any other business in the world. What we’re doing is radical. We’re not making improvements to an already broken system, we’re building something entirely new that is transforming who gets the top jobs, how they get them, and how they’re developed when they’re in them.

We’re looking for an accomplished and experienced operator to lead the Admissions team through its next phase of growth; a leader as radical as our ambitions.

You will be responsible for:

  • Optimising the Admissions operation for rapid scale - through people, process, product and data

  • Implementing strategies to improve efficiency and impact - balancing optimisation of the now, whilst building the next

  • Owning relationships with senior stakeholders in all functions across the business, primarily Go To Market, Product and Technology, Data and Marketing. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role given Admissions’ role in the middle of so many other functions; success requires exceptional relationships across the business

  • Leading and growing the Admissions team (recruitment and retention)

  • Owning the forecast - leading the team to fulfil the quarterly forecast

  • Defining and executing on the Product strategy in partnership with Leaders in our Product and Technology teams - focused on automation, objective and unbiased decision-making, candidate and client experience and operational scale

  • Ensuring assessments designed and deployed by the People Diagnostics team deliver against our objectives of quick, unbiased decision-making, are operationally sound, well implemented (team enablement)

  • Increasing candidate and client satisfaction

  • Ensuring equity at every stage of the Admissions process

  • Ensuring a seamless end-to-end candidate and client experience hand-off from Go To Market, through Admissions and Launch, to Delivery

Experience

Must have:

  • A proven track record of leading and scaling an operational function (people, process, product) in a very fast-growth, high-expectation, VC-backed tech company. You’ve done it before and are excited to do it again.

  • Designed & implemented simple, scalable processes that prioritise customer & internal user experience & efficiency

  • Rapidly grown a high-performing team - with strong evidence of retention & progression

  • Successfully managed a performance target

  • Implemented processes and solutions to improve efficiency of achieving those targets, ideally including technology (e.g. ticketing system, live chat integration, CRM)

  • A strong working knowledge of product development, including experience collaborating with product teams to build innovative tech products

  • Worked with high performing sales teams to deliver on ambitious targets

Person profile

  • Highly ambitious with an inquisitive mind and strong work ethic. Comfortable working in a change-oriented, ambiguous, fast-paced environment, with a proven ability to work quickly and methodically to tight deadlines, high volumes and high expectations on productivity

  • Skilled relationship-builder, influencer & stakeholder manager - wins people over quickly & utilises their strong relationships to drive the business forward at pace

  • Strong people leader who can inspire, motivate, mobilise and scale teams. You have a development mindset and enjoy building teams and individuals to create pathways for their growth

  • Strategic thinker and visionary with a bias for action - not afraid to roll sleeves up. Gravitate towards building things that run on their own and are “allergic to inefficiency”

  • Data-driven decision maker; uses facts and logic to make quick and accurate decisions considering highly nuanced and seemingly conflicting requirements

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 6 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days and 4 company-wide wellbeing days

  • Health & wellbeing - private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid & remote working - weekly or monthly visits to the London office

  • Equity - every Multiverse employee has ownership in the business through equity options

  • Team fun - weekly socials and regular offsite events

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion:

We’re an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. This will never change.

Safeguarding:

All posts in Multiverse involve some degree of responsibility for safeguarding. Successful applicants are required to complete a Disclosure Form from the Disclosure and Barring Service ("DBS") for the position. Failure to declare any convictions (that are not subject to DBS filtering) may disqualify a candidate for appointment or result in summary dismissal if the discrepancy comes to light subsequently.
