About The Position
The Engineer is responsible for supporting the design, maintenance, operation and modifications to the SCADA and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS).
Key responsibilities include:
- Maintain ADMS/SCADA system database and system displays. Develop and maintain existing software applications as well as hardware support.
- Support the integration of Distribution Automation (DA), Voltage Optimization (VO), and Distributed Energy Resources (DER's) into the SCADA and ADMS systems.
- Provide support and guidance to Illinois Distribution Control and Regional engineering staff.
- Provide analysis and recommendations to maximize the positive impact of Illinois budgetary allocations for reliability-based projects and initiatives.
- Support the Ameren Illinois Emergency Operations Center during significant events.
- Provide on call support for the various software systems utilized in Distribution Control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university required.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification or Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred.
- Electrical Engineering experience preferred.
- Experience with SCADA and or energy management computer systems is preferred. An understanding of electrical power distribution systems and devices as well as an understanding of control systems is preferred.
- Experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems preferred.
- Ability to develop software/scripts in C# and SQL preferred
In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Good organization, decision-making, communication, and human relations skills required. Must have ability to function well in a collaborative, team-building environment. Must be able to work under limited supervision and independently manage multiple projects and priorities. Must be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite. Ability to think strategically required.
