Advanced Communications Systems Project Engineer/Senior Project Engineer

The Advanced Demonstrations department provides engineering expertise on advanced communication systems within the Advanced Communications Acquisition Delta at SSC, supporting exciting and high-value activities in a closed domain. This unique position will serve as a critical resource to simultaneous systems engineering activities occurring across multiple phases of distinct program acquisitions. This position is for a technical systems engineering role within an integrated program office of Space Force government, Aerospace, and SE&I contractors.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting critical systems engineering activities across the domain in a fast-paced program office
- Assisting in the development of systems engineering requirements for next generation systems
- Validating requirements and capabilities of on-orbit systems, including support to on-orbit test campaigns
- Working day-to-day to solve challenging systems engineering problems and in response, developing creative solutions
- Ensuring technical coordination across key internal/external partners
- Establishing and maintaining the confidence and trust of the government customer
Work Model: Due to the confidential nature of the work, telecommuting is not possible.
What You Need to be Successful (Project Engineer)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, mathematics, or related technical degree
- 8 years of professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment
- Experience building and maintaining effective interpersonal relations with internal and external organizations such as with customers, Aerospace, contractors, or related
- Work integrally and effectively with the program office team and staff from external organizations
- Willing to travel domestically
- This position requires a current Top Secret/SSBI/SCI clearance to interview with the ability to obtain additional security clearances
What You Need to be Successful (Senior Project Engineer)
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, mathematics, or related technical degree
- 12 years of professional engineering/scientific experience, including experience in a systems engineering and/or program management environment
- Experience building and maintaining effective interpersonal relations with internal and external organizations such as with customers, Aerospace, contractors, or related
- Proven track record of successfully negotiating complex program activities
- Willing to travel domestically (potentially a few days a month)
- This position requires a current Top Secret/SSBI/SCI clearance to interview with the ability to obtain additional security clearances

We offer a competitive compensation package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to our business. The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.

$103,285 - $185,015 - $281,070
Pay Basis: Annual
