What is My Impact?

Advanced Data Warehouse Developers are responsible for development, programming, coding of claims database/applications. You will be responsible for documenting detailed system specifications, participation in unit testing and maintenance of planned and unplanned internally developed applications, evaluation, and performance testing of purchased products. You will be responsible for including IT Controls to protect the confidentiality, integrity, as well as availability of the application and data processed or output by the application.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Write code, mostly new, for complex system designs which span multiple platforms including Unix, Linux, Hadoop, Sailfish, etc.
  • Write detailed technical specifications for entire systems (made up of several subsystems). Identify integration points. Review technical specs created by other developers. Ensure sufficient quality and compliance of documentation to architectural standards.
  • Identify and report missing elements found in system and functional requirements and explain impacts on subsystem to team members and project teams.
  • Consult with other Developers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts and Project Managers.
  • Coordinate with other domains/areas for integration architecture solutions.
  • Seek review from other Developers, Business Analysts, Systems Analysts or Project Managers on estimates. Incorporate other Developer's scope information into own scope document (for integration points).
  • Review code developed by other Developers to ensure that the deployed code is built and adheres to enterprise standards and guidelines.
  • Provide input to and drive programming standards for continuous improvement.

What's Required?

  • 4+ years related work experience. Experience Details: IT development/programming/coding professional work experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience and understanding with unit testing, release procedures, coding design and documentation protocol as well as change management procedures
  • Proficiency using versioning tools
  • Thorough knowledge of Information Technology fields and computer systems
  • Demonstrated organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated database and SQL skills
  • Ability to manage tasks independently and take ownership of responsibilities
  • Ability to learn from mistakes and apply constructive feedback to improve performance
  • Must demonstrate initiative and effective independent decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly and articulately
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • In-depth understanding of the systems development life cycle
  • Proficiency programming in more than one object-oriented programming language
  • Proficiency using standard desktop applications such as MS Suite and flowcharting tools such as Visio
  • Proficiency using debugging tools
  • Advanced critical thinking skills to evaluate alternatives and present solutions that are consistent with business objectives and strategy

What's Preferred?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field IT related field or equivalent work experience
  • SQL skills
  • Spark/Hadoop/HDFS experience
  • Experience with Unix/Linux Shell Scripting, Advanced SQL, Python and Pyspark.
  • ETL tools like Abinitio
  • ELT development using Stored Procedures
  • Hadoop technologies like Hive, Kafka, HDFS and Mongo DB
  • Understanding of the GWDP concepts like Ingestion Framework
  • Experience with external vendor data exchange and coordination processes including governance and secure file transfer
  • Healthcare domain knowledge

General Physical Demands

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects. Jobs are sedentary if traversing activities are required only occasionally.
