Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, maintains and monitors payroll information processing for associates and answers any inquiries related to pay or paid time off information. Leads process improvement activities to help improve department efficiency.
This individual must be based out of a DENSO facility in Michigan, Tennessee, or North Carolina.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for compiling payroll data, error reconciliation and maintenance of comprehensive payroll records.
- Processes payroll by established deadlines.
- Responsible for the reconciliation of all payroll related tax remittances to the government and dues to third parties.
- Reconciles the year-end payroll information and generates W2s and other mandated payroll-related forms.
- Investigates and corrects payroll discrepancies and errors and develops process improvement solutions to ensure issue does not arise again.
- Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests from other departments and from individual associates.
- Verifies and runs reports regarding attendance, hours worked, shift premiums, HSA and posts information onto designated records.
- Audits the work of other payroll associates.
- May lead projects related to payroll and coordinates project support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Requires Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or human resources
- Requires 5-8 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties
- Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible
- Advanced understanding of payroll practices and policies
- Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues
- Negotiation skills to resolve fundamental situations/issues
- Cross functional team member
- Advanced process improvement (kaizen) mindset
Salary Range: 74,000-92,000
