Primary Responsibilities
As an Advanced Simulation Specialist/Performance Improvement Specialist you will be responsible for process improvement work across multiple industries. This position will work with Planning teams and within the Performance Improvement team in order to develop models to improve efficiency and eliminate waste within processes, produce simulation models and assessments, facilitate & implement Lean Six Sigma techniques.
Responsibilities:
- Travel to client locations to gather, analyze and present findings
- Prepare and deliver simulation models, presentations and written reports for internal and external clients as well as conferences, scientific journals and other publications
- Prepare and facilitate client process improvement workshops influencing executives and educating leaders on integration of best practices through realization of improved outcomes
- Complete Root Cause Analyses
- Complete current state assessments
- Perform data mining and statistical analysis
- Assist with facility planning as well as strategic planning
- Lead and maintain cutting edge knowledge of best practices regarding Lean concepts, disruptive operational strategies, and implementation methodologies
- Participate with teams in proposal writing/other duties as assigned to market process improvement services
Qualifications:
- Master's degree, in Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Statistics, Predictive Analytics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research or related quantitative field required
- Minimum of 5 years experience working in scalable discrete event simulation and/or related dynamic simulation and optimization in process improvement
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification preferred or certified in Lean Six Sigma, Lean or both
- Experience in A/E/C industry preferred
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Able to maintain multiple simultaneous projects, working alone or in a team setting
- Proven group facilitation skills leading executives and large groups through process improvement events such as 3P, Kaizen and various process improvement workshops and training events
- Strong oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and develop projects directed at solving problems as well as communicating solutions
- Experience with techniques and technologies for accessing and analyzing big data considered to be a bonus
- Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Office Suite (preferably Visio), Simulation Software (preferably Simio), SQL and whiteboarding platforms
- Ability to articulate innovative ideas to senior Researchers and strategic business partners
- Travel up to 50%; passport required.
