We have an opportunity at our corporate offices in Chicago for a Manager Giving and Advancement - AMA Foundation on our Foundation team. This is a hybrid position reporting into our Chicago, IL office, requiring 2 days a week in the office.

As a Manager Giving and Advancement - AMA Foundation, you will responsible forexecuting the annual giving program by planning and guiding strategies toincrease individual donor gifts and tracks all results. Responsible for theidentification, cultivation, solicitation, upgrading and stewardship of AnnualGiving donors. Lead planning and manage fundraising for the AMA Annual andInterim Meetings.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Annual Giving

  • Develop, implement and track a multi-channel annual giving plan consistent with fiscal year revenue objectives to include direct mail, online giving, social media, and other creative fundraising strategies, in coordination with the overall Individual Giving Development plan and Director of Development
  • Work directly with Director of Development to create strategies focused on moving prospects into a major gift pipeline as appropriate
  • Monitor the monthly progress of annual giving results compared to financial goals; provide regular reports.
  • Analyze effectiveness of various fundraising methods and messages; adapt future appeals accordingly
  • Manage relationships with internal committees as well as external vendors to meet annual giving deadlines and goals
  • Recommend short- and long-term annual giving goals and objectives to the Director of Development, monitor progress, assure adherence and evaluate performance through data analytics
  • Develop, implement and monitor systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of the annual giving function
  • Keep informed of developments in the fields of annual giving, not-for-profit management and governance, and the specific business of the AMAF and use this information to help the organization operate with initiative and innovation

AMA Annual and Interim Meetings

  • Lead the planning process for the AMA Annual and Interim House of Delegates Meetings in June and November, serve as the on-site point person for AMAF
  • Develop thoughtful fundraising campaigns, both marco and micro, for each AMA Meeting, including but not limited to: matching gift challenges, participation challenges, ensuring 100% participation by Board and Staff, leveraging individual funds, etc
  • Collaborate with AMAF team members to create meaningful stewardship opportunities, host AMAF events, share stories of impact, and more
  • Manage the coordination of all fundraising vehicles to ensure a seamless experience for donors as well as accurate reporting, both during and after the meetings (ie: MobileCause, online donations, pledge cards, etc)

Staff Management

  • Lead, mentor and provide management oversight staff; responsible for setting objectives, evaluating performance and developing staff
  • In coordination with the Director of Development, manage a team of support staff to: record and maintain donor, prospect, and gift data, and coordinate the donor and prospect stewardship program

May include other responsibilities as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Experience related to data analysis & reporting; including but not limited to segmentation, annual giving statistics, progress to goals, and other fundraising reports

2. Excellent writing/editing and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal, public speaking and presentation skills with an impeccable attention to detail

3. Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks; strong project management skills, including successfully managing and coordinating multiple projects with competing deadlines

4. Skilled at performing in a team environment as well as being a strong individual contributor; sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including board members, volunteers, donors, program participants, and other supporters

5. Tact, good judgment, and high level of discretion required for confidential donor information

6. Working knowledge of Raiser's Edge, Word Press, and the Microsoft Suite required

7. Travel required to AMA Meetings
