Position Overview:

Are you looking to be part of an organization that is developing and expanding diagnostics to enable better diagnosis and treatment of neurodegenerative disorders? Lilly's Neuroscience Research team is committed to developing cutting-edge novel diagnostics and therapies and is seeking inspiring scientists to join our team. The Diagnostic Advisor role will drive the development of novel diagnostics and improvement of existing diagnostics.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide strategic and technical input on the development, implementation and quantitative evaluation of diagnostic blood-based biomarkers and emerging markers (such as CNS derived exosomes) in drug development projects for neurodegenerative conditions (Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease, rare types of dementia)
  • Design and implement customized diagnostic analysis (segmentation, registration, abnormality characterization) pipelines, leveraging between novel strategies and standard methodologies.
  • Lead the development of emerging diagnostic technologies with a strong focus on exosome biomarker research
  • Execute pre-clinical studies to assess pathogenic diagnostics and treatment response biomarkers
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal research and clinical (medical, operations, statistics, regulatory) teams as well as external CROs to support the validation of diagnostic biomarkers and their application in therapeutic development.
  • Communicate, present and publish results of research projects and clinical trials as appropriate.


Basic Qualifications:
  • PhD in Neuroscience or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of blood-based diagnostics, analysis and interpretation


Additional Skills/Preferences:
  • Post doc and/or industry research in exosome biomarker research strongly preferred
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, listening, writing and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated learning agility, critical thinking and negotiation skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in highly integrated cross-functional teams
