Job Summary:
- A full-time Sales Agent for Green Mountain Energy is responsible for generating face-to-face conversations with prospective customers to promote and sell products
- Sales Agents will work in various settings including events, partnerships, and retail locations
- The primary goal is to acquire new customers for commodity and energy services products
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Present, promote and sell products/services to potential customers
- Establish a positive rapport and relationship with potential customers
- Manage and follow scheduling requirements
- Follow training standards for interacting and enrolling customers
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Abide by site rules and regulations, including all company safety rules/regulations
- In some instances, setup/teardown point-of-sale kiosks
- Participate in company meetings and workshops
- May be expected to provide sales mentorship and support to new employees
- Perform other duties as assigned
Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule; may work evenings, weekends, or holidays
- Some overtime required as special projects arise
- Travel 10-20% or as needed based on selling location
- Working onsite at assigned location(s) or event(s) both indoors and outdoors
- Must have reliable transportation
- This position is full-time and may be eligible for commission, incentives, 401k, and health benefits
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be over 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Must have at least (1) year sales experience in energy or related industry
- Available to work evenings and/or weekends
- Available at least three to five days per week
- Access to reliable transportation

- SCHEDULING: is flexible, full-time, and coordinated week by week
- Availability 40 hours per week
- Minimum requirement: 1 weekend day availability (Friday-Sunday)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Sincere desire to help protect the environment
- 2+ years of face-to-face sales experience
- Solid understanding/knowledge of renewable energy
- Intelligent & articulate, with strong aptitude for understanding technology
- High level of personal integrity (honesty and reliability are a must)
- Previous customer service and sales experience highly preferred
Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must understand and retain product knowledge
- Can solve problems, overcome objections, and critically think
- Comfortably communicates and follows sales processes
- Exhibits emotional intelligence
Physical Requirements:
- Can work inside or outside during weather conditions
- Must be capable of lifting, pushing or pulling up to 60lbs
- Capable of walking or standing for long periods of time
