The Cardiac Management Solutions division of ZOLL Medical Corporation develops products to protect and manage cardiac patients, including the LifeVest® wearable cardioverter defibrillator (WCD), the ZOLL cardiac monitor, and associated technologies.

Job purpose

The Advisory Business Analyst leads the cross-functional process of translating business goals to technical requirements. Disciplines include embedded software, hardware (EE/ME), and web application development.

Duties and responsibilities

Primary job duties and responsibilities of the position:

Develop subject matter expertise in system functionality and relevant business processes.

Collaborate with Product Managers to develop measurable and achievable product requirements, responding to requests for changes from original requirements in an organized manner.

Solicit input and collaboration from all key stakeholders.

Drive discovery sessions across various business units (Product Management, Operations, Services, Regulatory, Quality, etc).

Develop and maintain system and process documentation.

Work with project lead to create and manage aspects of schedule.

Drive resolution to any requirements issues or gaps.

Participate in agile process ceremonies.

Participate in system validation and User Acceptance Testing.

Collaborate with the project delivery team to prepare and present project gate materials for approval at phase gates.

Lead efforts to routinely assess and improve the requirements definition process.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. degree or equivalent industry experience in engineering or a related discipline. Typically 10+ years of relevant experience. Proven track record performing the above Duties and Responsibilities.

Demonstrated ability to plan, direct, and conduct engineering research and development activities.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred:

Practical experience using Agile methodology for software development

Medical device, FDA regulatory experience

Working conditions

This position is located at ZOLL Cardiac Management Solutions offices. Evening and weekend work may at times be required.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Supervisory responsibility

No direct reports, however general guidance, technical supervision, compliance and quality reviews, and initial performance review write-ups of junior engineers and technicians is required.
