TransUnion is looking for a high-performing Revenue Recognition Analyst to support the process of timely and accurate accounting of the company's revenue streams. The position will require reviewing contracts and partnering with other teams to ensure that the company is recognizing revenue in accordance with ASC 606 and Sarbanes-Oxley controls.
What You'll Bring:
  • Develops relationships and provides support to Finance Leadership and Sales organization
  • Performs detailed reviews of actual revenue results and investigates variances to expected results, prepares required journal entries and provides variance explanations.
  • Maintains financial security by adhering to SOX controls, ensuring contract reviews in accordance with ASC 606 guidelines
  • Provides information to management by assembling and summarizing data; prepares reports; creates revenue recognition memos; research complex revenue arrangements, makes presentations of findings, analyses and recommendations.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of standardized analytical tools and reporting as well as ad hoc reporting when needed.
  • Ensures accuracy of Deferred and Unbilled Revenue balances, including associated month end balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Works with other Revenue Recognition team members and leadership team on various projects as assigned.
  • Works to identify areas for improvement, propose solutions, and implement associated improvements.

Impact You'll Make:
Experience
  • Demonstrated history of achievement in high-visibility, high-impact roles
  • A Bachelor's degree is required; MBA and/or CPA designation strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of accounting/finance/auditing
  • Demonstrated success in operating within a matrixed environment

Skills
  • Must be well versed on revenue recognition, topic 606, SOX compliance, ASU 2009-13, Multiple-Deliverable Revenue Arrangements, and knowledge of bundled arrangements and fair value allocations
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP standards
  • Ability to understand and implement any new accounting standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
