Job Description
Sprout Social is looking for a highly driven, experienced and successful Affiliate Manager to take our affiliate and referral programs to the next level. Your primary focus will be building upon the foundation we have and growing the affiliate and referral programs. We are in the early stages and you have the opportunity to shape its growth.
The affiliate and referral program was built a year ago and has shown tremendous promise. We think there is a massive ceiling for revenue contribution of affiliates/referrals to the overall business. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving hard problems, has a voracious appetite to learn new skills and enjoys getting into the details. This individual prides themselves on being organized, detail-oriented, and empathetic.Â
Sprout Social is used by over 30,000+ brands worldwide including  DoorDash, General Mills, Trello, Make-a-wish Foundation, Edelman, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. These businesses rely on Sprout to create stronger relationships with their customers through social media.Â
Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications that our hiring team is looking for in this role:
- 3+ years affiliate/referral program management experience, building and running successful programs.
- Experience with growth programs including experimentation, learning from industry best practices, and applying
- Experience with various affiliate program software / interfaces - such as Commission Junction and PartnerStack
- Experience with recruitment of affiliates and referrers
- Experience building internal processes to support channel and external efforts
Additionally, these are the preferred qualifications that would indicate a particularly strong candidate:
- B2B SaaS affiliate/referral experience preferredÂ
Within 1 month, you will...Â
- Complete Sprout Social’s new hire training & onboarding program alongside other new Sprout team members. You’ll gain a broader understanding of our products and how your role fits into the organization.Â
- Partner with the Revenue Partnerships leader to define key success metrics for your role and how you will be measured against them.Â
- Acclimate yourself with the day to day responsibilities of the affiliate role by shadowing team members and listening to recorded customer calls and demos.
- Learn Sprout’s go-to-marketing messaging, key differentiators, develop and personalize segment-specific value propositions.Â
- Learn Sprout’s existing customer sales process by shadowing your peers and working closely with our Sales Enablement Specialists.Â
- Complete a demo and written certification to ensure comprehension.Â
Within 3 months, you will...Â
- Become fully ramped in your role as an Affiliate Manager
- Fully immerse yourself within our current channel partners
- Develop strong connections within the business to help produce a roadmap to a successful affiliate and referral programsÂ
Within 6 months, you will...Â
- Start to execute on your roadmap and growth tactics
- Become an expert on Sprout Social’s affiliate and referral programs as a subject matter expert
- Become a Sprout Social and social media expert to confidently speak to ever-changing trends, new product features and platform enhancements to help our customers realize their full potential and accomplish their goals.Â
Within 12 months, you will...Â
- Consistently meet and exceed monthly, pipeline and new business metricsÂ
- Added process optimization, new partners, and growth within our existing partner ecosystem.Â
- You will have found additional growth areas for the business.Â
- By way of your involvement, the program will have matured into an efficient and strategic revenue arm for the company.Â
Of course what is outlined above is the ideal timeline, but things may shift based on business needs and other projects and tasks could be added at the discretion of your manager.
