After-Sales Project Specialist

JOB SUMMARY:

The Senior Aftersales Project Specialist reports to the Manager, Service Engineering. This position works closely with business operations, engineering and manufacturing by overseeing the management of projects/programs that support Blue-Bird's Service, Parts and Warranty initiatives. The Senior AfterSales Project Engineer ensures communication of changes for timely procurement and evaluation of technical source material necessary for production of service, training and parts publications.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provides PLM project management and/or guidance for the Service Engineering team
• Supports the technical communications gates in PLM business process reviews
• Identifies service publications effected by new product launches and product design changes that drive service publication creation and/or revisions
• Provides engineering level technical direction and support of timely information to publication team members.
• Collaborates with project managers and/or design engineers to identify saleable OE parts required for the life of the product
• Verifies service parts are identified/flagged for appropriate catalogs and structured to their production parent items in PLM
• Reviews new and replacement parts with engineering when needed for legacy items
• Collaborates with Service Engineers to identify and structure service only parts / parts kits
• Evaluates new part set-up requests from CSR cases
• Supports cross functional departments as needed / required

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Engineering level chassis, body, electrical and/or powertrain technical knowledge
• Extensive knowledge of engineering practices and Blue Bird systems including PLM, ERP and CAE programs
• Experience reflecting high level of discernment regarding selection of service parts and downstream ramifications of parts offerings set-up
• Rational decision making and problem-solving ability
• Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
• Able to work independently, following-through and solving problems quickly
• Desire to work together as a team working collaboratively to solve problems

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field required
• 5+ years of automotive manufacturer (OEM) engineering level activity / support
• 3-5 years Project Management experience required, 7 years Project Management experience preferred
• Technical illustration experience / skills preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
