Ag. Digital Sales Specialist (SE Texas)

Summary

The Digital Sales Specialist will provide technical support to SGS Crop Advisors and other Simplot support staff, which is critical to the Company's efforts in capitalizing on the potential of Precision Agriculture (Digital Sales Enablement). Through precise data analysis, this role is integral in helping the Company achieve their financial and operational goals through supporting Crop Advisors in selling the correct crop nutrition, crop protection, seed, specialty, technology, and other agronomic products and consultative services to the grower.

Key Responsibilities

• Accelerate adoption of the digital agronomy platform in SGS to assist in providing solutions to customer needs for products and services.
• Administer scouting, trapping, moisture monitoring, and sampling activities.
• Responsible for mapping including generating prescription maps; field maps; irrigation maps; yield analysis maps. Make recommendations for zone creation and geo-spatial analysis. Create boundaries and zones for growers.
• Serve as a Precision Agriculture liaison to SGS Crop Advisors by managing and communicating irrigation and sensor data so products and services are utilized effectively.
• Create and support variable rate applications for fertilizer and seed.
• Maintain precision agriculture equipment, make recommendations to customers regarding equipment and assist with transferring data from ag machinery to the digital agronomy platform.
• Assist SGS Crop Advisors with soil and tissue sampling, collection of EC/EM data, moisture monitoring, and crop scouting, as well as summarizing crop results.
• Through job responsibilities, help customers yield desirable crop results with Precision Agriculture to maintain current customers and gain new customers with Simplot products and services.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from a 4 year college or university, preferred in agronomy or ag business.

Relevant Experience

Must have agronomic experience.

Equivalent experience of education and experience will be considered for meeting the minimum requirements of the role

Other Information

Strong computer background and skills.

Excellent problem solving and time management skills to ensure Crop Advisors and other support staff have the foundation needed to provide solutions to the customer

Ability to effectively build rapport, communicate with, and work cohesively with employees at all levels of the business

Highly preferred candidate would live in Southeast Texas.
