About the role:

Alcon is looking to hire an Agile Lead for our Digital Health team. The ideal candidate will work hand in hand with our Global Head of Digital Strategy & Program Delivery, to ensure delivery of world class of digital health products.

Our Digital Health team is harnessing technology to build a leading portfolio of digital health solutions that will transform the eye care experience for medical professionals to patients and enable improved patient outcomes - from a predictive health care delivery platform harnessing ML and analytics to innovative medical device software.

As Agile Lead, you will lead the establishment and scaling of agile practices within Digital Health team.

The individual will lead the Agile chapter including a team of Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches that operate within the Digital Health Products and Platforms and establish consistent and efficient ways of working. We are a fast-growing team, which will give you the opportunity to shape our ways of working and culture - think start-up, but inside a global leader in eye care. We are looking for someone who is not only a talented leader, but who also is a strong strategic thinker and problem solver.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Scrum Masters and Agile Coaches across product teams, ensuring growth and development opportunities.
  • Develop and drive the organization's agile practices as key thought leader to ensure consistency as best practices.
  • Ensure consistency in agile coaching as 'coach of coaches' that is tailored to team needs.
  • Increase adoption of agile best practices and maturity of agile software development working environment.
  • Define standards and guidelines for role qualifications and ways of working (e.g., DoD, Scrum Master, and Digital Product Manager qualifications and responsibilities).
  • Ensure that all teams are mapping their work to OKRs to ensure delivering valuable products, and track progress through regular sprint reviews and quarterly business reviews (QBRs) .
  • Collaborate with the recruiting and product teams to hire talent with agile skillset and experience.

  • Attainment against outlined KPIs
  • Achievement of key team objectives - velocity, sprint completion, broader team's achievement against OKR's.

Number of associates

  • 10-15 associates across the US and Outside US

  • Strong communication skills with ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization and aligning leaders on complex decisions.
  • Willing to challenge the status quo; able to understand when and how to take appropriate risks to drive performance.
  • Deep expertise in agile methodologies and practices (incl. Scrum, Kanban, Lean, and other Agile frameworks) and the flexibility to adapt their experience to new and evolving environments.
  • Ability to promotes agile mindset, share knowledge in agile ways of working or implementation.
  • Proficient in defining methodology, codify the process to be shared widely, and orchestrate change activities and processes.
  • Develops and mobilizes Agile Coaches, facilitators, and Scrum Masters to act as multipliers and foster agility.

Ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 10+ years and successful track record as an agile transformation leader in a SaaS Software Development organization with 100+ members
  • 10+ years of agile coaching experience and team collaboration tools such as JIRA, VersionOne, or Rally
  • Holds related agile practitioner certifications such as Certified Scrum Master (CSM, CSP, PSM, PMI-ACP), and/or certifications with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) and/or Project Management Professional (PMI-PMP)
  • Experience working in SaaS or a fast-paced environment
