Job Description

This is a Non-Employee Contingent Worker Role providing services for TIAA's family of companies and will be employed by TIAA's preferred 3rd Party Supplier. As a Non-Employee CW, perform a variety of moderately complex business planning, support, and project-related duties. Demonstrates an exceptional standard of quality and holds themselves accountable to achieving excellent results.

This role will sit onsite, likely in a hybrid capacity, at the location(s) listed in this posting.

The anticipated term of this engagement will be 10 months. This term could be extended based on company business needs.

The Agile Business Owner is responsible for capabilities and provides the day-to-day voice of the business during Pre-Program Increment (PI) planning activities, Pl planning events, and throughout execution. They will coordinate closely with Planning Leads, Epic Owners, Technology Representatives, and Agile Product Managers to ensure epics are decomposed into capabilities and defined capabilities, and work with Agile Product Managers to define features.

Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Work as a Liaison between the Epic Owners and Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to enable uninterrupted flow of work
  • Prioritize product backlog and work closely with the development team to ensure highest priority items are delivered
  • Work closely with Agile Project Managers (PM)/Project Owners (PO) to define clear features, user stories, and acceptance criteria that are clear, concise, and testable
  • Play a primary role in the draft plan review
  • Assign business value during Program Increment (PI) planning
  • Participate in the management review and problem-solving meeting
  • Participate in maintaining business and development alignment as priorities and scope change
  • Attend the system demo to view progress and provide feedback
  • Participate in Release Management, focusing on scope, quality, deployment options, release, and market considerations
  • Assess actual value achieved versus plan, and participate in the problem-solving workshop that follows

The Senior Scrum Master job facilitates a cross functional agile collaborative. Under limited supervision, this job coaches the development team of scrum principles, helps the team focus on sprint goals and to achieve their highest performance level to ensure the scrum project is successfully progressed. Works collaboratively across the organization, with multiple functions to connect the work of this business and drive more efficient and effective outcomes for the company.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Leads daily stand up, project increments and all agile engagements for the team.

• Identifies strategies of working in agile when other teams may work in waterfall and other non-agile ways.

• Reduces the number and redundancy of meetings while increasing transparency of work and connectivity of the teams.

• Leverages agile ways of working to build team culture, have fund and collaboration.

• Manages stakeholder expectations regarding target scope, schedule and budget.

• Improves the scrum process and project progress by removing impediments that hinder project progress.

• Facilitates daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and iteration meetings.

• Manages the development tracking system to include product and sprint backlogs.

• Monitors the progress of the sprint and helps teams estimate iteration deliverables and increase velocity.

• Fosters self-organization and collaborative scrum team and shelters the team from outside distractions to keep focus mainly on the agreed sprint goals.

• Ensures scrum principles and approaches are understood correctly by the development team and stakeholders to maximize the performance of the team.

Base Pay Range: $58.09/hr. - $84.42/hr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
