THE WORK

As a Scrum Master, you will act as an enabler for the effective functioning of a software development team using Agile methodologies.

  • Your responsibilities will include coaching and mentoring the Scrum Team(s), removing barriers to successful implementation, and facilitating scrum and agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.

  • You will also be responsible for identifying and reporting progress via appropriate metrics. In addition, you are expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge in Scrum and Agile Project Management.

  • You will act in an advisory role in meetings and be the primary contact (go-to person) for Scrum and Agile Project Management.

  • You will also be expected to publish on your area of expertise within and outside of Accenture, present at conferences, and provide solutions to business areas and Accenture-wide problems.

  • Furthermore, you will contribute to and be held directly and indirectly responsible for business area decisions, define business area goals, and may be held directly or indirectly responsible for organizational-level decisions.

  • Advanced proficiency in Scrum and Agile Project Management is required. Advanced proficiency in Agile Process Coaching, Agile Methods (ADM for Distributed Agile Development), and Agile Scrum Project Management are recommended.

  • Lead and facilitate Agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

  • Coach and mentor the Scrum Team(s) to ensure effective implementation of Agile methodologies

  • Identify and remove barriers to successful implementation of Agile methodologies

  • Report progress and metrics to stakeholders

  • Continuously improve Agile processes and practices

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills

Here's What You Need:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role

  • Certified Scrum Master CSM or similar certification

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the Scrum Management activities like Scrum principles, practices and values

  • Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills

  • Ability to remove impediments and navigate conflicts

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Agile project management tools such as JIRA is a must

Bonus Points, if:

  • Experience with scaled Agile frameworks

  • Knowledge of Kanban principles and practices is preferable

  • Experience with coaching distributed teams is preferable

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, District of Columbia, Maryland, New York or Washington as set forth below.
