WORKING CONDITIONS: Position based in the field with some office exposure. Frequent travel may be required. Must have personal auto and a valid driver's license while maintaining a good driving record. Must be able to make physical inspections. Must be able to climb, stoop, bend, balance on various heights, crawl and lift up to 50 lbs.
Job Description Summary

If you are a consultant at heart, with an affinity for the food and agriculture industry and the desire to learn and use your knowledge to improve a variety of operations to assist in reducing their exposures to potential loss, we want to hear from you!
Our agribusiness risk management team is an integral part of our organization. We develop relationships with customers, perform survey work to look at property controls, recommend improvements that decrease risk. Through collaboration we share our knowledge and expertise across Nationwide to enhance our agriculture insurance lines and their market position.
Under the general supervision of various Risk Management professionals in the Des Moines, IA office, the intern will be provided insights and knowledge of our agribusiness risk management roles. The Intern will utilize Nationwide risk management practices, including identification and documentation of hazards, exposures, and potential loss-causing activities in the agribusiness operations while evaluating a variety of agribusiness/farm accounts. The position may be exposed to the Property Engineering Group, the Occupational & Health Safety group, and/or the Risk Management Consultant utilization team within Nationwide Agribusiness.

Internship Roles/Responsibilities
The intern may be exposed to multiple facets of the Agribusiness Risk Management area, as well as assist with administration and operation of key strategic initiatives and programs in the farmowner and/or commercial agribusiness area. On-site inspections and providing comprehensive written reports may be required.
Skills/Qualifications Desired
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with personal computer and related processing systems
• Capable of using normal business and safety equipment
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects
