Agronomy Raw Development Manager (Caldwell, ID)

Summary

Under general supervision, this role applies appropriate methodologies, techniques and practices to provide technical support in all aspects of potato production and storage management for efforts designed to improve raw quality, which will result in more efficient factory operations, better finished product quality and safety, reduced raw storage losses and, ultimately, improved customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Contributes and achieves desired results by working across all company, department and plant functional areas and utilizing cross-functional teams.
• Designs and implements programs for projects and proper agronomic procedures used in growing and harvesting potato crops, to ensure good quality and adequate raw potato supplies for plant needs.
• Develops, integrates, maintains, perpetuates, and coordinates raw product quality improvement efforts using management and supervisory personnel within the department, as well as university, extension and grower personnel.

Typical Education

Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university

Relevant Experience

3+ years related experience and/or training

Other Information

Must have agricultural experience and exhibit an understanding of agronomic basics specifically in irrigation management. Prefer experience with potato production and storage management.

Skills: Intermediate mathematics and statistical skills as well as public speaking skills are required to effectively execute tasks through developing and communicating formal presentations. In addition, planning, organizing, problem-solving, analytics, spatial and GPS are essential for performing the job. In addition, this role requires demonstration of technical learning, functional technical skills, action-oriented skills, written communication skills, and integrity and trust.
