Starbridge.AI is a Series A stage startup building software to help small businesses win government contracts. Our 15 person remote-first team is looking for an AI engineering lead. Compensation for the role is $110k-$180k in addition to significant startup equity.
Your responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with our team as we productize new AI-powered capabilities: such as AI proposal writing & search experiences.
- Own the design implementation and maintenance of robust and scalable production retrieval and agentic systems.
- Implement strong testing and CI/CD practices that help us move with confidence in our AI system development

Technical Expertise: Advanced coding skills in Python with 4+ years of hands-on software engineering experience particularly in AI/ML development.
Core Competencies:
- Expertise in production-grade software and systems design (Python).
- Deep understanding of machine learning algorithms and model development methods.
- Proficiency with ML lifecycle management tools (e.g. MLflow DVC Weights & Biases).
- Experience deploying machine learning systems in cloud environments.
- Professional background in working with large language models (LLMs) and scaling them effectively.
- Proven ability to build scalable distributed machine learning products with strong software engineering principles.
- Analytical and problem-solving prowess.
- Effective communicator capable of conveying complex ideas clearly.
