AI Full-Stack Engineer

Note: Preferred location is US East Coast.

Summary:

The AI Full-Stack Engineer, reporting to the Head of AI Capabilities within the Business Insights and Analytics (BI&A) department of the Digital, Data, and Analytics organization, plays a critical role in advancing our AI-driven initiatives. This position involves leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of sophisticated AI infrastructure that supports the entire machine learning lifecycle. This role demands a strong collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to comprehend their needs and ensure that our AI systems and products are robust, scalable, and efficient. This AI Engineer is also responsible for maintaining high standards of code quality, addressing complex technical challenges, and staying abreast of the latest technology trends to continuously improve our systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of our AI infrastructure supporting our machine learning life cycle, including data ingestion, training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business teams to understand their infrastructure needs and ensure our AI systems and products are robust, scalable, and efficient.
• Oversee code quality through comprehensive reviews and testing.
• Address and troubleshoot complex issues, ensuring smooth and efficient software performance.
• Design and implement user interfaces with a focus on usability and aesthetics.
• Develop and optimize frontend features and delightful user experiences.
• Stay updated with the latest technology trends and suggest improvements to existing systems and processes.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• 5+ years of experience in a software engineering or similar role
• Advanced understanding of engineering, solution design, and infrastructure practices and approaches
• Proven experience in creating, deploying, managing, and scaling AI models and data products in production
• Proficiency in Multiple Programming Languages: Strong coding skills in Python, Java, C++ or equivalent for both front-end-and back-end development
• Front-End Technologies: Expertise in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Back-End Development: Experience with server-side languages and frameworks such as Node.js, Ruby on Rails, Django, or equivalent
• Database Management: Familiarity with various databases, both SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra, CosmosDB)
• Version Control Systems: Proficiency source control tools and processes like Git, GitHub, DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and Web Services / Servers: Ability to develop and integrate APIs; experience with Nginx, Apache, or similar
• CI/CD and Automation Tools: Experience in continuous integration and development using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, CircleCI, or Travis CI
• Demonstrated experience in handling large datasets
• Familiarity with source control tools and process (e.g., GitHub, DevOps, GitOps, CI/CD)
• Ability to prioritize across multiple projects and business needs
• Experience mentoring and teaching others
• Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills

Nice To Have:

• Experiencing with building and fine-tuning generative AI models
• Familiarity with audio and video processing
• Experience with other data science tools in our stack such as Databricks, Posit, R, Shiny
• Experience deploying solutions with containers such as docker, singularity, and/or Kubernetes
• Practical experience developing applications using Open AI's GPT and an understanding of the various versions of GPTs (and other models) and Open AI's APIs
• Proficiency with LLMs and/or related AI, NLP, UGC/content topics including deep learning, information retrieval, or knowledge extraction (e.g., BERT, LaMDA, GPT-2/3/4, LLaMA, PyTorch, TensorFlow, neo4j)

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to

be located in Colorado. Base pay may vary based on location and other factors.

Base Pay Range: $89,000 - $128,000

The following base pay range reflects the anticipated base pay for this position if a selected candidate were to be located in California, NJ Remote, NY Remote, or Washington. Base pay may vary based on location and

other factors.

Base Pay Range: $94,000 - $144,000

This position is eligible for short-term incentive compensation. The position is also eligible for long-term incentive.
