AI Lead (Startup Co-Founder)

TandemLaunch is looking to hire an experienced AI Lead to join the founding leadership team at a deep-tech startup in one of several application spaces. These include: 

• Physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) in robotics: The enhancement of robotics control systems through the integration of PINNs enables autonomous agents to make more precise and efficient decisions in navigating complex environments while adhering to critical physical laws and constraints. 
• Elastic memory for efficient continual learning in AI: Inspired by the mechanisms underlying human memory, the implementation of elastic memory strategies for AI applications enables continuous adjustment of network structure and association strengths, yielding an order-of-magnitude improvement in memory-access performance over traditional static memory. 
• Deep-learning-assisted video frame interpolation for edge applications: Leveraging a powerful neural operator-based architecture, video frames can be interpolated independent of input resolution at low computation cost to improve real-time video streaming and playback experience, all while running on the network edge.

What we’re looking for  

• Ph.D. in Computational Physics, Computer/Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field. 
• In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimizing neural network architectures. 
• Proven track record of research and development, with a focus on applications like simulation, optimization, control systems, or image & signal processing. 
• Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch, with a demonstrated ability to build end-to-end projects from concept to deployment. 
• Relevant industry experience in startup ecosystems. 
• Leadership skills to build and lead a team of scientists and engineers. 
• Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative environment, driving the development of cutting-edge solutions. 
• Willingness to stay updated on the latest advancements in deep learning, image & signal processing, and related fields. 
• Openness to continuous learning and adaptation to emerging technologies and methodologies. 
• Entrepreneurial spirit and a strong willingness to co-found and contribute to the growth of a deep-tech startup. 
• Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and contribute to strategic decision-making.
