AI Tooling Engineer

Figure is an AI Robotics company developing a general purpose humanoid. Our Humanoid is designed for corporate tasks targeting labor shortages and jobs that are undesirable or unsafe. We are based in Sunnyvale, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. 

Figure’s vision is to deploy autonomous humanoids at a global scale. Our AI team is looking for an experienced AI Tooling Engineer to take our AI annotation and dataset tooling to the next level. This role is focused on building full-stack web applications that help collect, annotate and organize neural network training data for the humanoid robot. The ideal candidate has experience building such tools for a large-scale deep learning system.

Responsibilities:

• Design and implement interactive software tools used to collect, manage and annotate data
• Collaborate with our AI and robotics engineers to identify software requirements and take the lead on implementing them
• Design intuitive and easy-to-use interfaces to accelerate the humanoid learning process

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum of 4 years of professional, full-time experience building full-stack / frontend web applications
• Experience with JavaScript / TypeScript and React
• Experience with Linux and command line tools

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with Python and data manipulation libraries such as numpy, pandas, etc.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Experience building data annotation and dataset management tools
• Experience using and managing data stores (Postgres, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Redis, etc.)
