Job Description
Position Summary
AIC Holdings, a family office actively investing in operating companies, hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate, venture capital, crypto, oil and gas, and public securities, is looking for an Accountant/Senior Accountant to join its vibrant and growing family office. The Accountant will work directly with the Controller and report to the COO and Controller.
AIC’s accounting team provides full general ledger accounting, bill pay, treasury management, investment reporting, tax planning, and support for two generations of family members and more than 40 entities, including partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
The Accountant will assist the Controller with day-to-day accounting responsibilities, including quarter-end and year-end financial statements reporting, reconciliations, performance tracking, accounts payable/receivable, and providing insightful reporting to stakeholders.

- Finance & Accounting functions: Assist with financial statement preparation, ownership reports, capital calls and distributions, expense analysis, taxes, treasury management, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Financial reporting system and controls: Assist with designing and implementing systems and processes to increase transparency, minimize risk, and ensure accurate and timely reporting.
- Investment Reporting and analysis: Assist with funding investments, managing redemptions, monitoring corporate actions, and implementing and maintaining the investment reporting system to ensure accurate performance reporting.

- Operating companies’ accounting staff for financial reporting to AIC;
- Banking relationships to manage cash positions, liquidity requirements, and ensure compliance with ongoing covenants;
- Estate planning teams to implement strategies for philanthropic endeavors, wealth transfer, and gift and estate planning;
- Tax professionals to provide support for tax compliance, assist with tax estimates, and review of tax returns; and
- Software vendors to ensure optimally functioning software that captures all data correctly.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a multi-entity enterprise
- CPA is a plus
- Large national CPA firm experience is a plus
- Partnership tax and accounting experience
- Understanding of partnership and trust agreements
- Strong technical skills; advanced skills in Excel
- Experience with alternative investments and accounting for multiple asset classes
- Experience adjusting priorities and working in an evolving environment
- Integrity, discernment, and a high level of confidentiality
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to thoughtfully apply sound judgment in decision-making
